In fact, the GT Marathon Carbon Expert is outfitted for any competitive rider, beginner or otherwise. Constructed of a tough, lightweight monocoque carbon fiber, the Marathon Carbon Expert’s frame owns 4 smooth inches of travel for high-end, efficient, soft pedaling. It combines a Rock Shox RECON RACE Air fork and a Fox Float RP2 rear shock for brilliant, flexible cushioning. But surrounding Marathon’s sculpted frame with unworthy components would be simply sacrilegious. Thankfully, GT outfitted this mountain bike with Shimano SLX cranks, brakes and derailleurs.
