The EOS 7D features an 18.0 Megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor and Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors, capturing images at up to ISO 12800 and speeds up to 8 fps. Other features include the cross-type 19-point AF system, an Intelligent Viewfinder that provides 100% coverage, a 63-zone dual-layer metering system, and a magnesium alloy body. The EOS 7D also captures Full HD video at 30p (29.97 fps), 24p (23.976 fps) and 25p.

The Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens (24-135mm 35mm equivalent) features a minimum focusing distance of 1.15', image stabilization up to 4-stops and an Ultra Sonic Motor (USM).

The Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens has improved Image Stabilization with 3 stops and the "Mode 2" option stabilizes images while panning with a moving subject.
