Product Description
Bicycles are a terrific mode of transportation, but sometimes you just need a little extra push while getting around town. Enter the eZip Trailz men's electric comfort bike, which is equipped with a 450-watt DC earth magnet motor and a 24-volt rechargeable battery. Far cleaner than gas-powered scooters but zippier than a traditional bike, the Trailz will get you from point A to B in no time at all, but won't guzzle gas or belch pollutants in the process. The battery offers a range of 15 to 22 miles per charge, so you can make it back and forth to the grocery store several times without running low on power. And once you're on the road, the Trailz boasts a top speed of 15 miles per hour (contingent on the rider weight)-plenty fast enough for most bike-friendly city streets. Is your work commute too far to walk but close enough that a car seems wasteful? Turn to the Trailz, which comes with a rear rack to carry groceries and other gear.

It is pretty heavy with the battery, but you rarely need to carry it. Was easy to assemble in an hour or so. Have had for 2 1/2 months and ridden it everyday. I weigh 290 lbs and even though this is above their recommended weight it still makes it so much easier to pedal.

The shifter is easy to go up or down gears. I added a two-tone bell from Amazon to alert dog walkers of me coming, a front and back flashing light for night time from Amazon, and two LED mini flashlights mounted to the handlebars attached by zip ties. Changed the saddle too for an extra wide one for comfort from Amazon. I also cut an ice cream pail into a rear fender to prevent mud and water from flying up and hitting my back. Words great!

I ride it 2 miles to and from work everyday and it's still going strong. I just plug it in after each day. Definitely pays for itself and it's fun to ride.

I purchased this bike about three months ago, from another vendor. Assembly is easy. From day one, the battery pack seemed weak. ( I weigh 200 lbs. and live in a flat area.) Right off the charger, the voltage indicator would go into the yellow zone (LED, really.) with any kind of load. Pedaling would keep it green if you were working harder than the motor. I only had the bike a month before giving it to my son to ride on his three mile commute to work. ( He weighs 175 lbs. and does have one mild elevation change on his route. (Not enough that you could even call it a hill.) The bike does not even have enough battery capacity to make his commute. (He wants his single speed bike back!)

Now, I'm ready to spend another $85 to replace the batteries. I'm hoping a pair of good batteries will give this bike a new life.
Moral of the story: Cheap can be more expensive in the long (or short) run.
If I ever buy another e-bike, it won't be this brand. I certainly won't spend $400 for the lipo upgrade! It would be throwing good money after bad.

Bought this bike a week a few weeks ago. Decided to have it professionally assembled, though probably anyone with basic tool skills could handle it. So far I am very happy with this bike. The bike is very solid, well constructed and uses quality components based on the low purchase price, especially when considering other electric bikes can be much higher is price. The shifter works well, the brakes work well and the seat padding and front shocks are of good quality, though this is essentially a cushy road bike and not really a trail bike. The electric motor is "pedal assist" mode gives you a "wind at your back" feel. At more than just a minor incline the pedal assist is not enough, however by just twisting the throttle, you can give a significant help on more serious inclines. You really never have to go into the "twist and go" mode to get full assist as long as you keep the pedals moving.

The only reason I didn't give the bike 5 starts is around the battery/motor performance. i live in a hilly area. I am a heavier rider, over 220 lbs, approaching the bike's suggested weight limit. A friend has the same eZip Trailz and is actually about 40 lbs. over the bike's limit. On level or very slight inclines the motor can power the bike with little to no rider assistance, even for heavy guys like myself and my friend. However on greater inclines, we heavier riders need to work hard, sometimes very hard to get up hills even with full battery assist. But that is part of the reason we bike ride - for the exercise. Based on what I have read about these bikes and batteries, I suspect the real issue is the standard sealed lead acid (SLA) battery and it's ability to release power to the electric motor. I think the lithium ion battery would probably be able to drain faster and deliver power fast enough to the motor to allow it to provide more torque is hill climbing situations. On the eZip Trailz, Currie includes the SLA battery with no way to pay extra for the lithium battery upgrade in place of the SLA battery. On some of the other model bikes, the lithium battery is an optional upgrade. At some point I plan to purchase the pricey lithium battery, but for now, as my endurance improves, the standard SLA battery is enough.Schwinn Hybrid Bike, Takara Kabuto Single, Huffy Women s Ocean , Schwinn Discover 700C, 58cm TRACK FIXED , Schwinn Men s Prelude, Pacific Stratus 26-Inch , Diamondback 2012 Overdrive, Vilano Aluminum Road Bike, Kent Dual Drive Tandem, Aluminum Road Bike, Mongoose Maxim 26-Inch, Huffy Vibration Bike , Vilano Fixed Gear Fixie, Diamondback 2012 Sorrento, GMC Denali Road Bike, Mongoose Women s Woodland, Huffy Men s Cardinal , Takara Sugiyama Flat, Dahon Boardwalk Folding , Giordano Rapido Single, Polaris Ranger Men s Bike , Dahon Speed Uno Folding, Huffy Good Vibration, Diamondback Insight 2, Schwinn Southport Bike, Schwinn Women s Lakeshore, Schwinn Crest Urban, Schwinn Women s SX2000, Critical Cycles Fixed, Vilano Tuono Performance, Currie Technologies eZip, Kink Curb 2013 BMX, Pacific Cycle Oceanside , Mongoose Impasse Dual, Schwinn Volare Hybrid Bike, Giordano Libero, Diamondback Mountain Bike , GMC Topkick , Diamondback Sport 29

If you consider getting a car rack for this bike, keep in mind it's very heavy. You will need a heavy duty bike rack. Don't even think about using one of those trunk mount strap on bike racks. Make sure you get a hitch mount for your vehicle and a heavy duty bike rack. This way you won't damage your vehicle or your electric bike.

Overall these are really great entry level electric bikes for novice or out of shape bike riders.
