Thanks to its versatile design, this generator adds comfort and possibility to any situation. Use it to keep your family safe through unexpected blackouts, add some fun to a camping trip, or make your job faster and easier.

Powerful OHV Engine with Secure Shutdown

The Generac GP3250 is equipped with a powerful 208-cc OHV (overhead valve) engine, which features a low-oil shutdown system to prevent engine damage and keep your generator in good shape for long-term use. It also features splash lubrication and a high-performance alternator, ensuring that operation of your electrical devices is efficient and smooth.

Plus, this generator's sturdy, 3.5-gallon steel tank ensures a full 9.7 hours of operation at a 50-percent load, letting you relax for hours of use. And with the tank's built-in fuel gauge, you can monitor fuel levels at a glance. Generac even provides you with your first supply of oil.

Plenty of Wattage to Run a Full Range of Appliances

The Generac GP3250 supplies 3,250 output watts and 3,750 maximum watts (for start-up of devices). It has an A/C voltage of 120/240 and a frequency of 60 hertz.3750 Watt Electric, Go Power GP-SW3000-24 , Generac 5860, ETQ DG4LE, Portable Generator Remote, Powermate Px 5000 Watt , Subaru SGX3500, Goal Zero - Emergency, Solar Aerator, Solar Laptop Charger, GudCraft WG450, Hyundai HHD7250, Kisae Home Solar , TED 5003-G, Westinghouse WH7000C, Hot Max HM2000, Westinghouse WH7000EC, Solar Powered Attic, ALEKO WG1500, Briggs Stratton 030210, 1KW 3x6 Solar Cells, Gas Portable Generator, Windmax HY600-3, HQRP 120 Watt , Briggs Stratton 44Q777-3136-G5 , Generac 5796 , Porter-Cable H450IS-W, Extreme Max EXT3000, Steele Products SP-GG600, GenTran R5020 , Go Power GP-RV-95E , Hitachi E43, Titan Controls Selene, Hyundai HHD3500, Powerhouse PH2700PRi, Subaru SGX7500E , Gen-Tran 30 Amp, Generac RTSN400G3, Westinghouse WH4500, GMC YUKON 6 000 Watt, Generac QuietSource, Kaneka 110W, Shell Solar SQ80 , Siemens ASGN020RBA, GenTran R3020, Go Power GPRV-145E , HQRP 90 Watt , Reliance Loadside Generator

For unexpected blackouts, this is enough wattage to run home appliances such as security systems, mini-fridges, and computers. For construction and landscaping applications, it's enough to support devices such as trimmers, belt sanders, and circular saws. And for camping and outdoor events, it can run portable stereos, outdoor lights, and electric grills.

(Note: All appliances should be checked for actual wattage ratings.)

Safe, Quiet Operation with Overload-Protected Outlets

If security and quiet operation are important to you in a generator, then the Generac GP3250 is an ideal choice. Its 120-volt outlets are circuit-breaker protected, guarding against power overloads and allowing the generator to smoothly send power to your appliances. And the low-tone muffler means the generator runs at a comfortable noise level that easily blends into the background.

This generator is CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certified. It is backed by a two-year limited residential warranty (one-year warranty for commercial applications).

UPDATE: After initially accepting Amazon's offer to send me a replacement unit, I decided to just take a refund instead. Amazon declined to take the old generator back and said I was welcome to do with it as I pleased. I ordered some parts from a third-party...a new air cleaner housing and an air duct. When the parts arrived, I pulled the unit completely out of the box and discovered that the bottom frame was dented and bent but not so bad as to be unusable. I replaced the air cleaner housing, installed the air duct (an air hose to the carb) and noticed that the choke was broken off the carb and that the linkage was a little mangled. I got the choke handle on and was able to straighten the linkage. I put oil in the unit and added gasoline and it fired up (after I discovered that I connected the linkage backwards...long story). I plugged a lamp into both of the two 120v outlets and it lit up which apparently is a good sign and so I think I have a working generator for the price of some spare parts, a skinned knuckle and a lot of aggravation.

In inspecting the frame damage and the damage to the air cleaner and carburetor, it's clear to me that the factory puts these units on their side and slips the plastic bag over them. If the generator is flipped over hard enough, the damage I saw is exactly what would happen...basically, careless packaging at the factory.

Original review is below:

Ordered this item and received it 8-9 days later. When I pulled it out of the carton, there were broken pieces of plastic at the bottom...the housing for the air cleaner and a plastic duct were both badly damaged as though someone had reached in the framing with a hammer and took a couple of swings. My first call to Amazon resulted in being referred to Generac who had no idea how this was their responsibility. (Generac customer service is a nightmare of disconnects and being passed from person to person but that's another story.) To Amazon's credit, after 5 days they offered to send me a replacement unit at no charge or a refund.Champion Power Equipment, Connecticut Electric 6 , GudCraft WG700 , Nature Power 50082, Yamaha EF2000iSPortable, DeWALT DXGN4500 , Grape Solar CS-P-270-DJ, HQRP 120W Solar , Instapark PowerBox Mars100, Pro Tran Q Series , Steele Products SP-GG1000E, Steele Products SP-GG120CM, Windmax HY400-3 , All Power America APG3075 , HQRP 185W Size, PTO Generator Kit , Winco HPS12000HE, Canadian Solar CS5P-240M, Generac 5605, Generac 5842 iX1400, Gentron Propane , Lifan ESI 2600iER, GudCraft 500W, Pramac 1650 Watt , GenTran GS7500, Honeywell 7500E-6039, Generac RTS12EZA1, Reliance Controls 30-Amp, Dayton 1DYL5, Duracell DG20R1, Gudcraft WG400, Pond Aerator, SunRise Solar , GudCraft WG600, DuroMax XP4400E-CA, Briggs Stratton 44Q777-3136-G5, Mobile Foldable , Ramsey VG400WT, Hyundai HHD7250CA, PowerBoss 1850, GudCraft WM450, Powermate PM0418000, Powermate PMC106507, DL6000I, Lifan ESI 5600iER , Powerland PDL6500E, GudCraft WG1000, Generac 5845, Briggs Stratton 71047, Powerland PDW-210E , Generac 5736

In further research, I discovered that these units are made at a factory in China -- I had been under the impression that they were made in Wisconsin. Between all the other negative reviews for units received badly damaged and my own experiences with poorly built engines from China, I decided to take the refund and I'll shop for a unit that is better built.

I bought a Generac XG8000E from Amazon in November of 2010. It arrived in pristine condition. I put in oil and gas and the thing started up instantly. It was a marvel to behold. Fat forward to August of 2011. Hurricane Irene hit and we lost power. I pulled the Generac out of my shed, hooked it up, through the transfer switch and...no power. I tested the unit and it didn't generate any electricity. I took to the local Generac dealer/service. Seven weeks, and a dozen phone calls later, I was told that I should have done a complete quality-control check of every feature of the generator when it first arrived. They would not repair it and I'd have to pay $450 for all the broken parts in the power box and windings. Generac put me on hold 10 minutes at a time, they hung up on me when transferring calls, they swapped customer service reps so I'd have to tell my story over and over. They were unresponsive, dismissive and have a condescending attitude toward their customers. And I can't say with certainly but it seems that Amazon.com likely damaged this generator in their Arizona warehouse and then repackaged it so as to hide the internal damage.DuroMax XP10000E, Reliance Controls 31410CRK, Champion Power 46539, Yamaha EF2000iS, DuroMax Elite MX4500, Powermate PM0497000.04, Sportsman GEN4000LP, Generac Guardian 5875, Grape Solar GS-S-250-Fab5, Xantrex 802-1500 , Briggs Stratton 30469, WEN 56352, DuroMax XP4400E, Hyundai HY2000si, Sportsman GEN7000LP, Goldline AQ-TROL-HP, Generac RTSD200A3, Honeywell 2000-6066, GoalZero Yeti Solar, Briggs Stratton 30466, Briggs Stratton 30473, Generac 5940, Champion Power 41135 , Westinghouse WH7000E , DuroMax XP8500E, Yamaha EF1000iS , Generac Guardian 5871 , Generac 5793 iX2000, DuroStar DS4400, Generac 5734, 500 Prime Solar Cell , Champion Power Equipment , Generac 5792, Briggs Stratton 71014 , Windmax HY1000-5, Generac RTSX200A3, Westinghouse WH7000, Generac Guardian 5885, Champion Power 41537 , Generac Guardian 5870, Generac RTSX100A3, Goal Zero 29005, Sportsman GEN4065, DuroStar 4400 Watt , Winegard RT8000T

If I thought you were considering purchasing a Generac, and purchasing it from Amazon, I would drive to your house and slap you in the face and ask you if you're really that stupid. I've never been more disappointed, enraged and defrauded by a company before. I am considering small claims court. Don't do it. Buy from a local power tool company who can do QC and get it set up for you BEFORE you take possession of it. And for heaven's sake - don't buy a Generac.
